My portrait work focuses on reflecting the personality and interests of the sitters. I use a combination of hand stitching, collage, photo transfer, fabric paint and embellishments on cotton, linen and silk organza fabrics. I sometimes incorporate background landscapes into my portraits by setting the portrait in a favorite location. It takes time to produce my work and I enjoy the calm mindful process of stitching by hand and transforming fabrics into textile art works.
